Upcoming Releases
The following is a brief review of a number of suggestions for features that are likely to
be incorporated into the browser in the near future:
Website
The development of this web site makes it possible to let registered users store there
settings (Favourites, etc.) online, allowing the same settings to be used from any internet
connection. Social web features may also be introduced if there is sufficient demand.
SPARQL
The SemWeb library provides SPARQL functionality which offers the possibility of using it to
return the results of (visual) queries, and then expressing them as RDF graphs.
Views
There are a couple of common alternate views under consideration. Geographical locations
could be implemented through a combination of Virtual Earth, MapPoint, and Deep Zoom
composer, and timelines could be generated by using some of the features in the Silverlight
Toolkit.
Others
An exciting feature of the upcoming Silverlight 3 release is its support for 3D graphics
which could be used to provide enhanced visualisations such as n-dimensional slices.
Multimedia support remains conspicuous by its absence, mainly due to legal obligations.
